The Mokokchung Municipal Council will be organizing a “Christmas Night Carnival” from December 20 to 22 in collaboration with Adventure and Motorsports Association Mokokchung (AMAM) and Mokokchung District Musicians’ Association (MDMA).
The carnival is also being organized with support from All Ward Union Mokokchung and Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry. ADC Mokokchung and Administrator of MCMC, Manphai Phom while addressing the press said that the main purpose of organizing the carnival is to add more fervor to the festive season and to let the citizens experience some night life during the festive season.
During the press conference held at his office chamber in the presence of AMAM and MDMA members, the MMC Administrator highlighted that the Night Carnival will feature food stalls, fun games, music booth, photo booth and other fun fair activities. Liquor and other contraband items will be strictly prohibited, he added. The location of the carnival will be from the Town Square (Police Point) to Rotary Point and the timing will be from 6:00PM to 9:00PM.
The MMC Administrator further informed that AMAM and MDMA have been entrusted to jointly organize the New Year’s Eve program which is a tradition in Mokokchung Town. He also added that the organizers of the New Year’s extravaganza were planning to make it bigger and better than ever before.
