Mokokchung, December 20 (MExN): December marked a milestone of faith as Chuchuyimlang Baptist Church Mokokchung celebrated its centenary jubilee from December 19 to 20. The jubilee programme was conducted under the theme ‘Kibuba uludaktsudi’ at the church premises.
Speaking during the occasion, Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger, Executive Secretary, ABAM expressed happiness in celebrating the centenary of the church, according to a press release received on Sunday.
“Jubilee has always been special times to look back, to rejuvenate our lives and to renew our faith, so that we may grow towards a deeper Christian life and do more generous service to others,” he said in his message.
In this he urged upon the congregation to reconcile, reform and proclaim the goodness of life.
Later, the jubilee celebration commenced with a commemorative monolith being unveiled by Rev Atsongchanger along with the church pastor and village council.
On the centenary occasion, Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land revenue, Neiba Kronu, also delivered jubilee greetings, terming it as ‘a huge landmark’ and a call for the church to grow bigger so as to win more souls for the Lord in the days to come. The Minister also acknowledged the pioneers, the church leaders and the congregation for the successful jubilee celebration. He further urged the congregation to maintain good relationships with the neighboring villages.
Amid the festivities to mark the centenary celebration, the church followed strict operational procedures during the programme, to tackle the common fight against the global pandemic, the release stated.
