Chumu council to widen road

Dimapur, August 12 (MExN): Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) has directed all citizens in its area to clear portions of land that falls into Khuova road. The council referred to the decision taken during a joint meeting of the CTC, Chumukedima Village Council, Tenyiphe-II Village Council and Virazouma Village Council and public leaders of ward 10 and 11 on June 8.
The decision was to widen the said stretch of road and land demarcation drives have already been undertaken twice, the CTC informed in a note today.
The CTC has informs all land owners of the area that any structure, boundary walls, buildings or plantations falling within a perimeter of 20 feet from the middle of Khuova road be demolished. All the landowners in concern are directed to remove, dismantle or cut the stipulated portion on or before August 28 without fail. No complaint or appeal for leniency would be entertained under any circumstance after the expiry of the ‘notice date,’ the council added.
