Despite the large scale devastation, the COVID-19 pandemic has also brought people together from all walks of life to work together and extend help in any way possible.

In one such display of solidarity, pastors from the Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo (DABA) visited the Gurudwara in Dimapur and prayed for the Sikh community in Dimapur on May 22.

“A community that has been silently contributing” towards the welfare of the people, one of the DABA representatives said, in acknowledgement of the Sikh community’s initiatives during the pandemic.

It may be mentioned that the Gurudwara in Dimapur, besides other initiatives, has been providing packaged meals three times a day for the attendants of the patients at District COVID-19 hospital. With concerns of attendants of COVID-19 patients posing a risk of infection while going in and out of the hospital to procure meals, the Gurudwara reportedly stepped in and volunteered to provide packed food (breakfast, lunch and dinner), from its community-run kitchen, free of cost.

The DABA representatives on Saturday appreciated their service for humanity, shared words of encouragement and offered a prayer for them; and also handed over financial contribution from the Church members towards the community kitchen.
