CII CEL launches North East’s first Micro Business Excellence initiative in Nagaland

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): The CII Centre of Excellence on Employment & Livelihood (CII CEL) on February 10 launched the micro business excellence workshop in Dimapur, aimed at supporting existing and aspiring entrepreneurs across Nagaland.

Nagaland has become the first state in the North East region to implement the initiative, informed a press release from Chizuknok Longkumer State Head- Nagaland, NER, CII. 

More than 35 entrepreneurs and business aspirants from various districts of Nagaland participated in the programme.

The workshop focused on building leadership clarity and strengthening leadership capabilities, strategies to enhance sales and expand business operations, effective human resource management, understanding financial statements for informed decision-making, cash-flow optimisation, and embracing digital transformation to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving business environment. 

As per the release, the participants will be enrolled as members of the CII Dimapur Entrepreneurs Development Forum, which will provide access to experienced industry mentors, relevant resources, and a structured platform for regular interactions, discussions and problem-solving sessions.

The forum aims to ensure continuous capacity building, enabling entrepreneurs to address business challenges, scale their enterprises and explore new growth opportunities.

Addressing the inaugural session, Kvulo Lorin, Chairman of the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Limited (NIDC), highlighted Nagaland’s potential in terms of natural resources, strategic location and entrepreneurial talent. 

He described the initiative as a timely intervention to strengthen micro and small enterprises in the region.

Emphasising the business potential of Dimapur district, Lorin stressed the need for entrepreneurs to continuously upgrade their skills, particularly in sales, marketing and digital adoption, to remain competitive and sustainable in today’s dynamic market environment.

The initiative seeks to strengthen micro-enterprises through structured capacity building, mentoring and market-oriented support, contributing to inclusive economic growth and livelihood enhancement in Nagaland and the wider North East Region (NER), the release added.
