SVEEP campaign programme at Seyochung
Seyochung, November 19 (MExN): A Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign and sensitisation programme was held at the Town Hall, Seyochung on November 18.
According to a press release, during the programme, Additional Election Officer of Kiphire Election Office Olivi Thurr informed that Seyochung area is also in the list of areas having high Elector Population (EP) ratio in the state of Nagaland. In this regard, she said that clean election should start from the clean electoral roll and asked the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to be sincere in their duties and delete deaths and ghost enrollments in the electoral roll.
As per the press release, the AEO also highlighted on some polling stations where there is high EP ratio and asked the BLOs to rectify and come out with actual numbers. She mentioned that as per Election Commission of India there should be 61- 63 % EP ratio. She, therefore, asked the BLOs and gathering to discharge their duty diligently for the benefit of the public.
Seyochung Additional Deputy Commissioner Renbemo Ezung while acknowledging the election office for conducting such the SVEEP programme, reiteratedf the AEO's request, and asked the BLOs and village leaders to be more sincere while dealing with the E-roll.
During the programme which was chaired by LDA Election Office Kiphire, L Sepi Sangtam, exchange of doubts and views were also held during the discussion hour, the release stated.
