Clock Tower adds attraction to Wokha town

Wokha, December 11 (MExN): Minister, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Jacob Zhimomi inaugurated the Clock Tower, Wokha in the presence of Dy Chief Minister, Home & Road & Bridges (R&B), Yanthung Patton on December 11.  

A report from the DIPR stated that Minister Jacob Zhimomi addressing the public thanked the Dy CM for contributing from his own resources to construct the Clock Tower. Zhimomi appealed to the other three legislative members from the district to come forward and extend co-operation with the Dy CM for the betterment of the Lotha community in particular and for the Nagas in general. 

“If we think only for our own benefit it will be a great disadvantage for the growth of community,” the Minister said while appealing to the Lotha community to extend full co-operation which will bring blessing to the community.

Zhimomi reminded the public on the advancement of modern information technology which has come to us too soon, without knowing the disadvantages of modern technology our today’s youngsters has plunged into the use of mobile phone technology which has many negative impacts in our society. 

While speaking on the water supply for Wokha town which he inaugurated last year at Vankhosung main reservoir, Jacob assured that the department will try its best to give at least basic requirement of water supply from the said reservoir before next year monsoon. He also said department could not augment adequate water storage due to some technical problem which will be rectified soon.

Jacob also stressed on the importance of free will donation from the public for the successful implementation of any Government projects, there should not be any hindrance on the land issue, public has to sacrifice to bring development in our State.

Lotha Hoho, Chairman Mhondamo Lotha thanked the DY CM for constructing the Clock Tower from his own initiative and Phyobemo Tungoe for supervising the construction. 

Meanwhile, the Lotha Hoho also appealed to Minister Jacob Zhimomi to strengthen and renovate the Wokha town water supply from Engorotchu main reservoir from Vankhosung, since the water supply is not being satisfactorily delivered for adequate public service.

Benediction prayer for the inauguration of the Clock Tower was pronounced by Executive Secretary, LBCA, Rev L Tsanso and the programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Orenthung Lotha.
