Dimapur, October 30 (MExN): Condolences poured in for NDPP General Secretary Nchumo Kikon, who passed away on October 29 after a brief illness at Dimapur.
On Thursday, State Chief Minister (CM) Neiphiu Rio stated that late Kikon was a “senior and staunch member of the NDPP and was serving as an General Secretary of the party at the time of his demise.”
His demise is an immense and irreplaceable loss to his family, the party and the community as a whole, the CM said in his message.
Rio also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
In separate statements, the NDPP Minority Committee and NDPP Dimapur also issued condolences.
“His sudden demise is a great loss to the party in particular and the whole community in general,” the Committee said. It conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, Charlie Sekhose, Senior Vice President NDPP and Dimapur Region In-charge and Convenor, mentioned that Late Kikon was “Co-convenor of Dimapur region and also General Secretary of NDPP (CEB) who was actively involved with the activities of the party, and had deep concern for the society.”
Terming it a ‘great loss for the Nagas’, the NDPP Dimapur region also shared its pain of “losing such a senior leader, who had vast experience and knowledge.”
“I on my own behalf and on behalf of all rank and file of the NDPP Dimapur region convey our deepest condolences to his wife and all members of the bereaved family. We pray that Almighty God will give you strength and solace during this trying time. May the departed soul rest in peace,” the message read.
