Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) has decided to support and join the one-day Bharat Vyapar Bandh called by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on February 26.
In this connection, the CNCCI has directed all the District Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enforce the bandh on February 26 from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm in their respective districts.
The bandh will be limited only to commercial business activities and all other activities will not come under the purview of bandh and other activities will continue as normal, it informed.
The bandh has been necessitated as the existing Goods and Service Tax (GST) regime which is all India in nature has become too difficult for business community to comply unless it is simplified, CNCCI stated in its press release issued by Chairman Dr Khekugha Muru and General Secretary Dr Seyievilie Mor on Tuesday.
The demand by business community across the country to the Union Government to simplify GST regime has not yet been addressed creating hardship and has become difficult to comply with forcing the business community to call for the bandh, it added.
In this regard, the CNCCI has appealed to consumers to bear with the inconvenience and hoped that they would stand in solidarity with the business community.
