DIMAPUR, MARCH 15 (MExN): The Central Nagaland Students Association (CNSA) is set to embark on a ‘Back to School’ mission to assess the functioning of government schools.
This comes after the School Education Department announced resumption all educational institutes for normal classes recently.
A press release from CNSA President, Himato Yeptho and General Secretary, Lipemo M Tsopoe informed that the decision to embark on the mission was taken on March 13.
“The purpose of the mission is mainly to check the attendance of government school teachers, to check if school uniforms and textbooks are rightly delivered to the students or not and also to check if mid-day meals are provided accordingly,” the association informed.
It urged the concerned department and teachers to cooperate as and when the team visits its department and schools.
The CNSA said that such a mission was deemed necessary after having learnt that there have been certain issues hampering the normal functions of schools i.e. non availability/shortage of textbooks; school uniforms not being issued; irregularities of teachers etc.
The CNSA stated that it would remain vigilant in its jurisdiction namely Dimapur, Wokha, Mokokchung and Zunheboto along with its units, the Lotha Students Union (LSU), All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) and Ao Students’ Conference (AKM).
