The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), accompanied by members of the newly established Central Nagaland Women Association (CNWA) visited Mokokchung and met with the district's apex civil organisations at the Ao Senden Conference Hall on July 27.
CNTC, President, T Lanu Imchen briefed on the genesis of CNTC saying that it was created in 2012 with the motto ‘Unity, Solidarity and Fraternity’ to be a pressure group and voice out the truth for the upliftment of the Nagas, stating that it was a non-political organisation. He also stated that any problem, political or non-political, would be dealt with as long as it affected Nagaland's prosperity.
The President also announced that with the formation of the 'Central Nagaland Tribes Legislative Forum,' the house has approved for the formation of the 'Central Nagaland Tribes Gazetted Forum.
In a short address, the recently elected President of the CNWA, Atoli Sümi, expressed sympathy for the tragic underdevelopment of the so-called “advanced tribes” (Mokokchung-Ao, Zunheboto-Sumi and Wokha-Lotha districts).
Adding an example of the Government Higher Secondary School (Mayangnokcha) in Mokokchung, where she had pursued her studies in 1976, is still substantially the same.
Short speeches were also delivered by various speakers including CNTC Vice-Presidents Khondao Ngullie and Hukiye Yepthomi, CNWA General Secretary, Zujano Patton, Joint Secretary, Aienla, Ao Senden Vice-President Imkong Jamir, Watsü Mungdang President Arenla Longkumer, Mokokchung Town Aor Telongjem represented by Er Lanu Nokdir, and Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem, Vice-President, Aolong Imchen.
The session was chaired by Ao Senden President, Chubawati Longchar.
