Dimapur, November 5 (MExN): Many believe that learning a second language can be very beneficial for putting oneself at an advantage when searching for internships and careers. Another benefit of learning a second language is having the ability to create connections with many people and gain different perspectives which are important for one to develop their mind sets and personality.
With these benefits in focus, C-Edge College in Dimapur, Nagaland announced during October 2020 that the college will provide that opportunity by introducing the Japanese Language Program starting from November 2020.
C-Edge College, which is recognized by the Government of Nagaland, Higher & Tech Education and is under Nagaland University introduced the Japanese Language Program during its inaugural on November 5 via online mode.
A press release from the college stated that Kumrila Yimchunger, Assistant Professor delivered the invocation to start the inaugural program.
In his welcome address, Er Moa Aier, President of the College mentioned that the certificate course program was a long cherished and awaited one for which he thanked God for making it possible. He also mentioned thatmany are taking Japanese language program for different purposes such as learning a new language, learning new culture and career opportunity for which he is confident that all will find their passion and purpose. He concluded that with support from Japan Foundation, they plan and hope that in days to come, it will be develop into a full-fledged course.
The online inaugural programme was also attended by the Director of Japan Foundation India, Kousuke Noguchi who highlighted that this is an historic moment not only in Nagaland but also in India and that the Japanese embassy has been informed of this program. He mentioned that learning Japanese language has job prospects in India as well as in Japan. He further stressed that there are many Japanese companies in India who are looking for Japanese speaking candidates and thus, thejob potential for future is high.
During the inaugural, the teaching faculty Hiroyuki Ohtaki, for the Japanese language who was also present at the event, was introduced.
The overview of the Japanese Language course was highlighted through a power point presentation by the Language Advisor of Japan Foundation, Yoko Kanagae. A short speech was delivered by Sentiben of BA 3rd Semester, on behalf of the first batch - language program.
Making the programme more eventful, Alongti of BA 5th Semester presented a special song. The event also comprised of Kousuke declaring the Japanese Language Program open. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Chubatola Aier, Principal, C-Edge College where she extended gratitude to all who had made this historical moment possible.
The event concluded with remarks by the Coordinator of the C-Edge College Japanese Language Program, Kevimesu Naleo.
