As part of 24th Hornbill Festival 2023, 180 artists from eight North Eastern states today converged at The Naga Heritage Village Kisama and conveyed the strength of unity through culture.
They performed at the cultural programme billed as ‘Colours of North East India,’ organised by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Dimapur.
‘Colours of North East India’ - a choreographic presentation of folk dance with live music is curated by Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee and director of NEZCC Dr Prashanna Gogoi, assisted by Rajesh Boro, Anjoy Kachari, Brajen Baro and Rajib Baro.
Mizoram performed Cheraw dance, Arunachal-Rikhampada dance, Tripura- Hojagiri dance, Sikkim- Tamang Selo dance, Manipur- Lai Haraoba, Meghalaya- Wangala dance, Assam- Bihu Nach while Nagaland performed Nzanta dance.
Earlier, the event was graced by Goa Public Service Commission Chairman, Jose Manuel Noronha as the Chief Guest, while Advisor, Civil Administration Works Division & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo was the Host and Advisor, Transport & Technical Education, Temjenmenba and MLA, C Manpon Konyak were the Co-Hosts. The Honoured Guest was AVSM, YSM, SM GOC # CORPS, Lt. Gen H S Sahi.
