Kohima, October 7 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will grace a one day consultative meeting with civil societies and tribal hohos on ownership of land and its resources, municipal election and women reservation on October 8 at Heritage Bamboo Hall, Kisama from 9:30 AM onwards.
Short speeches on issues of land and its resources and women reservation will be delivered by Sano Vamuzo, Chairperson, Women Commission Nagaland, Tokheho, Leader of Opposition, Dr. Chumben Murry, Minister for Agriculture, T.R. Zeliang, Minister for Planning & Coordination and Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Dr. S.C. Jamir, former Governor of Maharashtra, M.C. Konyak, Minister for Forest, Ecology & Environment and Excise and Justice HK Sema, Rtd Judge, Supreme Court.
The technical session will start from 11:30 AM. Resource persons for the topic “ownership of land and its resources” include, T. Solo, IFS (Retd), R. Kevichusa, IAS (Retd), K.L. Chishi, MLA, former Chief minister Nagaland, Dr. Toshi Echa, Principal Phek College, Zerle Angami, Retd Judge, Gauhati High Court and Chingwang Konyak, MLA.
Resource persons for municipal election and women reservation includes Hekani Jakhalu, Director YES, Daisy Mezhur, Secretary Nagaland State Social Welfare Board, Er. Lanu Toy, Retd CE (Power), Keviletuo Kiewhuo, President Naga Hoho, T. Senka Ao, member Ao Senden and Dr. Shurhozelie, Minister for Urban Development.
The consultative meeting will also be witnessed by presentation of working paper by Banuo Z. Jamir (IAS), Additional CS & Commissioner, Nagaland on the topic “Ownership of land and its resources vis-à-vis right of the government for public use,” Sentiyanger (IAS), Commissioner & Secretary Geology & Mining and Horticulture on “Ownership of land and its resources and the right of the government for regulating exploration” and Norman Putsure, IAS, secretary urban development on “Reservation for women in urban local bodies and election to urban local bodies. There will also be a general discussion on the core issues and adoption of resolutions.
