In view of the surge in COVID-19 cases in Phek district and to contain the spread of COVID-19, a consultative meeting of the Phek district legislators, District Task Force on COVID-19 and NGOs took place at Deputy Commissioner office, Phek on May 27.
The meeting discussed on the COVID-19 related matters and called for united effort to combat the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Neiba Kronu, MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu and MLA Chotisuh Sazo were in attendance during the meeting. It was also attended by representatives from Chakhesang Public Organization, Pochury Hoho, Chakhesang Mothers’ Association, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council and other civil societies.
In the meeting, the legislators shared their concern on the pandemic and lauded the frontline workers for rendering their selfless services and encouraged them to continue to serve with more dedication. It also acknowledged the District Task Force and all the civil bodies, churches for their tireless efforts.
Earlier, Neiba Kronu briefed on the latest policy of the state government on COVID-19. He stressed on the need to initiate the translation of SOPs into local dialects to educate the rural areas.
The NGOs appreciated the legislators for taking the COVID 19 pandemic situation together and assured their fullest support and cooperation.
The meeting was chaired by Razovolie Dozo, Deputy Commissioner Phek. Meanwhile, the Phek district legislators donated a hearse (Ambulance) for attending the urgent needs in the district.
