Kohima, November 20 (MExN): A compliance survey on Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) 2003 will be carried out in Kohima and Wokha districts from November 22 to 26.
In a press release on Saturday, Additional Director and state nodal officer (SNO) for NTCP Dr C Tetseo informed that the survey team will be visiting government offices, schools, hospitals, shopping malls, market places, bus & taxi stations etc.
Requesting all the stake holders to cooperate with the survey process, the SNO also informed that deputy commissioners of both the districts have already issued an order for the survey. The survey is sponsored by International Union against TB and Lung diseases in collaboration with Canyouth Dimapur. It is an important exercise as it will give us an idea about the progress the state has made on implementation of tobacco control law and also help in formulating policies for the future, the release stated.
