COVID-19 Nagaland: 36 new cases, 153 recoveries

Thirty six new COVID-19 cases were detected in Nagaland on August 21, taking the State’s total to 3,619. Meanwhile, the number of recoveries continues to rise, with 153 people more people declared recovered on Friday. 

As of August 21, the number of recoveries stand at 2,074, according date from the Health Department. The official death toll due to COVID-19 stands at 7. 

Of the new cases detected on Friday, 17 are from Kohima, 10 from Dimapur, 7 from Zunheboto and 2 from Peren. Amongst the new recoveries, 90 are from Kohima, 41 from Dimapur, 13 from Peren and 9 from Zunheboto. 

Nagaland Health Minister, Pangnyu Phom informed that all primary contacts of the new cases are under self isolation and necessary contact tracing has been activated. 

A total of 34,188 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 32,588 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 21,701 samples have been sent for TrueNat testing.
