Free vaccination in govt facilities
Kohima, February 28 (MExN): The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Nagaland has announced that vaccination of high-risk groups- persons above the age of 60 years, as well as those above the age of 45 years with associated co morbidities will begin on March 1.
All citizens aged 60 years and above as on January 1, 2022 and all citizens aged 45-59 years of age as on January 1,2022 with co morbidities or diseases subject to certification by a Registered Medical Practitioner will be administered the vaccine starting from Monday, Dr Ritu Thurr, State Immunization Officer (UIP) informed on February 28. Left out Healthcare and frontline workers will continue to get the vaccine (both registered and non-registered) at all session sites, it was informed.
Process of registration and vaccination
Self-registration can be done at Co-Win App, Arogya Setu App or by logging on to cowin.gov.in using mobile number. One mobile number can register up to 4 beneficiaries. Onsite registration can be also availed at the session site. (Self-registration Option will be available from 9:00am, March 1)
All beneficiaries should carry a photo ID for registration (Aadhaar, Electoral Photo Identity card, Employment certificate, Official ID card, driving license, PAN card etc.)
Beneficiaries between 45-59 years will need to produce/ upload a certificate of co morbidity by a Registered Medical Practitioner in addition to photo ID.
All beneficiaries will wear mask, sanitize hands at entry and maintain 2-meter physical distancing strictly.
Vaccines will be provided free of cost at all government facilities, the department notified.
Session sites
While more facilities will be open to public in a phase wise manner, vaccination will be carried out from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the identified session sites for the launch, the department informed. (See table)
Only 7 active cases in Nagaland
Meanwhile, Nagaland has witnessed a fall in COVID-19 cases over the past few weeks. Only one positive case was reported on February 28 and the State has only 7 active cases at present. According to the COVID-19 bulletin issued by the State Health and Family Welfare department, 6 of the active cases are in Kohima while 1 is in Dimapur and has been categorized as having mild symptoms. Out of 12,200 positive cases in the State, the recovery figure on Sunday was 11,949 according to the bulletin. The death toll from the infection in the State is 81 and ‘not COVID related’ deaths are 10 in number.
