COVID-19 vaccination process and challenges discussed in Tsg DTF meet

Tuensang, March 5 (MExN): The Tuensang District Task Force (DTF) for COVID-19 vaccination held a meeting at the DC’s Conference Hall on March 4.

Kumar Ramnikant, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Chairman DTF chaired the meeting. Updates on first phase vaccination for health care workers, second phase vaccination for front line workers and third phase for senior citizens and citizens between 45-59 years of age with co-morbidities were discussed in the meeting. 

DIO Tuensang Thungchabeni shared information on the overall scenario and challenges of the vaccination processes in the district. She also highlighted the introduction of COVID 2.0 App. The DIO also appealed to all the beneficiaries who have taken the first dose of Covaxin to compulsorily take the second dose.

RRT WHO, Dr Christina Nzani Humstoe updated on her visits to vaccination sites and sessions.  The DC stressed on the importance of awareness campaign for the vaccination and the proactive role of churches, youths and NGOs. He also called for translations of awareness messages to local dialects and requested the church in dissemination of messages.
