COVID: 4 cases, 6 recoveries

Nagaland reported 4 COVID-19 cases on February 4 taking the statewide total to 12,121 cases. The 4 cases — 1 in Dimapur, 3 in Kohima – were detected from 190 samples returning a positivity rate of 2.1 percent. All 4 were traced contacts.  The state’s positivity rate overall was 9.6 percent. 

There were also 6 recoveries today and the number of active cases came down to 63. The total of recovered cases increased to 11,821. Out of the active cases, 55 were asymptomatic. There was nil admission in the ICU. Of the 8 symptomatic cases, 5 were described as ‘mild’ (4 in Dimapur, 1 in Kohima), 3 ‘moderate on oxygen’ (2 in Dimapur, 1 in Kohima). 

The number of deaths remained at 88 (10 not COVID related). 

 Meanwhile, 179 more beneficiaries were vaccinated in Dimapur, Mokokchung, Wokha and Peren today with the Covishield vaccine. A press release from the Health Department informed that the number of vaccinated persons in the State is now 6,203. A total of 44 frontline workers other than the healthcare workers were also vaccinated in Peren and Phek.
