COVID: 74 new cases in Nagaland

Nagaland reported 74 new COVID-19 cases on October 2 taking the statewide total to 6318. Dimapur and Tuensang combined reported 56 (28 each) of the day’s total, followed by Kohima- 14 and Mokokchung- 4. 

Overall, 51 of the day’s cases were armed forces personnel, 4 returnees and 19 traced contacts. All of the 14 cases in Kohima were traced contacts and 5 of the 28 cases from Dimapur were traced contacts. 

The state also reported 67 recoveries— 54 from Dimapur, 6 from Kohima, 5 from Mokokchung and 1 each from Mon & Zunheboto, according to Health & Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom, in his twitter handle. 

The total recovery stood at 5161 and active cases at 1085, as on 3:00 pm, October 2. 

The number of fatalities stood at 17, of which 12 were confirmed COVID deaths and 5 were described as “not COVID related.” 5 other deaths were under review. As many as 50 cases were designated as “migrated,” but did not specify where. 

34 of the active cases were described as “mild,” 3 as “moderate” and the rest as “asymptomatic.”
