CS nod to regularize adhoc teachers soon

Dimapur, August 18 (MExN): The Nagaland Cabinet will decide regularization of 1, 720 ad-hoc teachers who have served for a period of three years or more to regularized vacancies. These teachers are also those who cleared the suitability tests, an official letter addressed to the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Union stated today.
The state-level screening committee headed by the chief secretary of Nagaland met on August 16 and cleared the ‘proposal” of the School Education department for regularization of 1,720 ad-hoc teachers who had served for more than three years against regular vacancies and who cleared the suitability test through the departmental interview board.
“The case for regularization of these 1, 720 ad-hoc teachers would be taken up by the Cabinet in its next meeting which would be held shortly,” the letter from Chief Secretary Lathara to the union said. For this reasons, the chief secretary said, the government requested the union to “drop your programme of agitation” on the issue to enable the government to expedite the process of “regularization of your service.”
