CSOs respond to representation on Peren-Dmp road

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 22 (MExN): Several Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) of Peren Town on Friday issued a statement in response to the representation submitted to the Nagaland Commissioner on January 19 by Pingkam Namdau on behalf of the “public of Peren Town.”

The representation was in regard to the NH 129 A, package 1A two lane road from Peren to Dimapur.

In response to this, another representation from the civil societies was submitted to the Nagaland Commissioner on January 22 stating that the earlier representation “is far behind reality and concocted.”

It was appended by Haisui Lungalang, Head GB, Peren Town; Tingbapeung Elu Ndang, President, Ward Chairman Union, Peren Town; Pelingrangle, President, PTWWO; Nduzeu Herie, President, PTYO; and Mireulung Sephe, Chairman, Peren Village Council.

It alleged that there are “certain misinformed elements that are popping its head to sabotage the process of compensation,” further claiming that efforts to “malign the image of the local Assessment Committee and CSOs of Peren Town does not reflect the view of the general public.”

“The CSOs of Peren Town has unanimously elected President Ward Chairman Union Peren Town to represent as a Local Assessment Committee Member to work along with the District Administration Peren in regard to NH-129A package IA on August 31,” it stated.

The representation said that the civil society organizations “fully endorse and support the proposal undertaken by the District Administration along with the NHIDCL and the Local Assessment Committee regard to the construction of two lane road within the town.”

The civil society organizations further stated that they “will not entertain or tolerate any organisations/groups/individuals trying to sabotage the long cherished desire of the general public of having good roads.”
