CTAN, CEAN call off sit-in- protest

Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) and Civil Engineers Association of Nagaland (CEAN) today called off their sit-in-protest following the assurance given by NPWD department to fulfill their demands.

CTAN and CEAN are demanding immediate termination of all illegal appointments made between June 6, 2016 and August 10, 2018.

After a meeting held between the representatives of CTAN and CEAN with commissioner and secretary, NPWD here today, the media cell stated that as per assurance given by the department, the Association “will call off the sit-in- protest agitation as for now.” 

Communicating the outcome of the meeting, the media cell stated that CTAN & CEAN agreed upon the proposal put by the commissioner and secretary for seeking 3 months deadline period, that is till March 31, 2020  to meet their demand for termination of those 29 S.O G-II , 7 Surveyor & 7 draftsman.

It was decided that the form issued for the 9 post of S.O Gr-II advertised earlier on November 23, 2019 will be extended till January 17, 2020 to give everyone a chance to apply, the media cell stated.

It also stated that the department also gave assurance to add the existing vacancy of S.O Gr-II which is remaining vacant at present in coming days before conduct of the department exam.
