Chümoukedima, May 5 (MExN): The Chümoukedima Town Youth Organisation (CTYO) has appealed to the State Government for extension of Inner Line to cover the district of Chümoukedima “as with the bifurcation of Dimapur district the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system has not been covered.”
CTYO, President, Hovise Naleo and General Secretary, Avi Makritsu in a press release stated that even after the government notification dated 09-12-2019 for extending the Inner Line to the then entire district of Dimapur, it is yet to be implemented still. Therefore, the government is urged to expedite the process of implementing the ILP system.
The organization also observed that multiple elements have started to emerge again to collect “tax”, causing hardships to business community and general public of Chümoukedima Town.
“CTYO will not tolerate antisocial elements and strict action will be taken against those indulging in unlawful demands. CTYO reiterated that it will remain steadfast on the declaration of ‘One Government, One Taxation.’ The citizens of Chümoukedima unanimously resolved to pay tax to only one entity per the resolution of February 13, 2014, it mentioned.
The CTYO also requested the general public “not to form any new unions/organizations which can create burden on the public in Chümoukedima town and to follow the guidelines through proper channel if they need to form a genuine one after thorough consultation with all stakeholders.”
It said that after the formation of Chümoukedima district many new unions and organizations have come up and doubts the genuineness or motive behind the formation of some of them.
Further, it also reiterated that CTYO will not tolerate any activities which disrupt the peace of Chümoukedima town, viz drinking in public places, substance abuse, rowdy, intoxicated behavior, loud music during the wee hours et cetera, and anyone who does so will be dealt with strictly.
