Kohima, December 29 (MExN): The two-day 63rd general session cum cultural dance competition of Phek Students’ Union (PSU) got underway today at Phek village under the theme ‘cultural identity in modern context.’
Dr Ketholenuo Rhakho, Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Nagaland hoisted the PSU flag as a mark of the inauguration of the two-day session. Talking on the topic “Develop competency through education,” she warned about the negligence of our own identity during the process of cultural assimilation. She stressed on dignity of labour and said, “hard labour is the only key to success.”
Veduvo Rhakho, General Secretary, Chakhesang Public Organization shared greetings. Niesucho Keyho, president BJP Phek district shared the history of the Union. The inaugural session was chaired by Shehuzo Hoshi while Chitanieyi Venuh Pastor CRC invoked God's blessings. Indigenous tune was presented by Chopachi and Nukusayi. Akuve Soho delivered welcome address. Krove Hoshi read out general secretary report while presentation of meritorious award was led by Makrota Venuh.
The session was followed by PSU general assembly, Spelling Bee, Debate and Solo competition.
Meanwhile, MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will be the cultural guest on December 30, starting from 9:30 AM onwards. Dr Zhokho Venuh, principal Capital College Kohima will be valedictory speaker.
