Kohima, May 20 (MExN): The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) today made an appeal to the Chakhesang community to accord normal and respectable burial to any deceased person whether or not related to COVID-19 and not to refuse burial in the village/town at the preferred location for those who succumbed to any case from within or outside the village, “since dead bodies do not pose any risk of spreading infection after being sealed with leaked proof bag and disinfected.”
Referring to the directive issued by Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) on 5/6/2020 that 'the burial of deceased regardless of any case should be allowed in their respective town/village preferred burial site,” the CYF reminded every citizen of Chakhesang community to abide by the directive and “at the same time, strictly follow COVID-19 appropriate behavior and adhere to the SOPs issued by the concerned authority.
The CYF also appealed everyone not to spread rumors and not to create fear psychosis among the community.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, not to discriminate and stigmatize anyone and help those who are in need,” stated CYF President Lhuvesayi Lohe and General Secretary Nyitso Therie.
Meanwhile, the CYF extended its respect and salute to all the frontline workers.
“Wear mask, maintain social distancing, wash your hands regularly. Together we shall overcome. Stay home, stay safe,” it conveyed to the Chakhesang community.
