In a novel initiative, the Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo (DABA) has entered into a MoU with Emporium Skill Training Institute, to provide placement-linked skill development training to Ao youth in the aviation and hospitality sectors.
Rev. Lima Jamir, associate pastor of DABA and Anirban Mukherjee, operations manager, Emporium Training & Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. (ETCPL), signed the MoU of behalf of the respective parties here at DABA office on Thursday.
As per the MoU, Emporium Training & Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. (ETCPL) will be imparting skill training to 300 youth (members of DABA) every year for the next three years. Selected candidates will undergo three-month training in cabin crew/airhostess, airport management, 5-Star hotel management and cruise line management courses, to be sponsored by DABA.
The fee of the 3-month training is approximate Rs. 15,000 per candidate as per DABA and ETCPL. After completion of training, the responsibility lies on ETCPL to ensure that every passed out trainee gets placement.
In the first batch, a total of 30 candidates would be selected to undergo training and the prospective candidates would be jointly screened by the Member-Care Ministry of DABA and ETCPL.
Interview and screening for the first batch is scheduled on August 27 and more than 20 candidates have applied for the training so far, informed Rev. Jamir.
Member-Care Ministry representatives and Rev. Jamir said DABA’s initiative is with the objective to address the unemployment problem among Naga youth and also to instill work culture as per biblical principles.
Operations manager, ETCPL, Anirban Mukherjee, said Emporium Skill Training Institute is a leading training institute under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, National Skill Development Corporation, Aviation and Aerospace Skill Council & Tourism and Hospitality Sector Skill Council, Govt. of India.
Mukherjee informed that Emporium has been working with the State directorate of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, since the past six years and already trained and placed more than 1,000 Naga youths in the aviation and hospitality sectors.
He also informed that Emporium is the official recruitment partner to more than 500 prestigious global brands in aviation, hospitality and cruiseline sectors in India, Middle East and South East Asia.
Centre director, Emporium Nagaland, Temjenkala Aier, also highlighted on activities and achievements of the institute.
