Mon, August 20 (MExN): District Health Society, Mon began a three-day district level training on Dakshata for Medical Officers (MOs), Community Health Officers (CHOs) and nurses at the conference hall of District Hospital, Mon on August 20.
A press release received here stated that the training is designed for doctors, nurses, and midwives involved in maternal and newborn care during and after childbirth. The programme covers various aspects, including routine care of mothers and newborns, early identification and management of complications, infection prevention and evidence-based practices.

Dr Wungyong, DPO (RCH&UIP), welcomed all participants and stated that the goal of the training is to reinforce learning while also ensuring that providers are able to use their abilities effectively at their respective health facilities. He explained that the initiative focuses on periodic performance audits to track progress and identify areas for improvement in order to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity by boosting quality treatment during childbirth. He urged the attendees to participate completely since this will clear up any doubts they may have and will help the program achieve its goal of turning each of you into competent skilled healthcare professionals.
Resource person Dr Yingngam Wangnaolim, Gynecologist DH and Dr Chimang Paul, Pediatrician DH Mon during these three days will be covering sessions on Introduction to the concept of quality of care and role of Safe Childbirth Checklist; care at the time of admission; essential practices just before, during and after delivery and essential practices at the time of discharge.
