Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): Discipleship Bible College celebrated its 30th Foundation Day program today at its campus at Dimapur.
P. Dako Phom, Parliamentary Secretary, Transport & Communication, Mechanical Engineering, government of Nagaland was the guest of honour. He said that the DBC is recognized as the oldest and well known College especially in the northeast. He also described the College as one of the finest, despite having to face many hardships and financial constraints. “During the last 30 years, the College has produced lots of theology graduates who I believe must be serving in different ministries all over Nagaland and Northeast,” he said.
The parliamentary secretary urged the students to be dynamic ministers, and also expressed hope that the College will be a centre of excellence. Sharing advice to the students, he said that the time will come for them to use the Word of God in their own practical life. “Then the real journey will begin in your life,” he said. He opined that their success or failure as a Christian will be evident through their ministry as, learning the word of God is interesting but to put it in practical life is not that easy. He further congratulated the College principal, and faculty for having produced hundreds of graduates for the service of God.
Rev. Dr. Nuklu Longkumer, principal, stated that DBC was established in August 19 1981,and obtained permission order from education department in 1982 and registered under the Act of society in 1982. The College was recognized by NBCC in 1998, became accredited member to ATA for B. Th in 1998 and M. Div in 2002. Also, till last graduation, DBC has sent out more than 1000 students to serve in the Lords’ vine yard. He also informed that presently there are 185 students from all over North East states from 25 linguistic groups.
Earlier, cultural presentations were displayed by the Sumi and Ao Community. Also, special prayer for DBC was said by Rev. Dr. Weyiete Lohe, pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church Dimapur.
