DB’s Customary Court inaugurated at Wokha

Wokha, August 25 (DIPR): Parliamentary Secretary for Prison, Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Services, Wochumo Kithan inaugurated the newly constructed DB’s Customary Court at ADC Administrative Headquarters Bhandari on August 24, 2010.

Speaking at the function, the chief guest appreciated the Government of India for the constitutional provision of Article 371 (A) for special provision of allowing customary practices to the Naga people where he commented that according to his understanding there should be no further appeal for any case to any other legal authorities when the decisions/judgment is pronounced or taken by such DB’s Court authority customarily. He also lauded the leader of DAN Government, Neiphiu Rio for bringing the state of affairs in the state to a peaceful one and therefore urged upon the people to cooperate with the government so that development can be done successfully.

Earlier, the chief guest unveiled the monolith. The inaugural programme was chaired by ADC Bhandari, A. Robin Lotha. Short speeches were also delivered by Head DB, Motsuthung, President LLRPO, Michael Khongdongia and President NPF, 40 Bhandari A/C Longshithung Lotha. Rev. Abemo Patton, Pastor Lotha Baptist Church, Bhandari invoked God’s blessing while vote of thanks was proposed by DB, Ethio. 

The function was attended by all Head of Offices, DB’s in the Sub-Division, GB’s, NGOs and elders in Bhandari town. The Parliamentary Secretary also inaugurated the newly Court, DB’s Customary Court at Champang, EAC headquarter where the function was chaired by EAC Champang.
