DC Mon issues notice on proposed Singphan Wildlife Sanctuary

Mon, July 13 (DIPR): In connection with the proposed Singphan Wildlife Sanctuary, the Deputy Commissioner and Collector, Mon, Dinesh Kumar, IAS, in exercise of powers conferred by Section 18 of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972, has made a proclamation to all concerned general public living in villages in or in the neighbourhood of Singphan Wildlife Sanctuary, that any person claiming any right mentioned in section 19 may file his/her claim in prescribed form before the DC/Collector within the period of 2 months (60 days) from the date of issue of this proclamation, specifying the nature and extent of such right with necessary details and the amount and particulars of compensation if any.

The proposed Singphan Wildlife Sanctuary comprises an area of 2357Ha under Mon district with the following boundary descriptions:

1. South    –    Shumen Nallah and Upper Tim Village
2. North    –    PWD Border Road, Assam
3. East    –        Sufrai/Tnu River upto the Junction
4. West    –        Churaideo Tea Estate on the Assam side
