
Dimapur, November 26 (MExN): The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has appealed to the Police to apprehend those responsible for the November 22 incident at Siba Enterprise, Duncan Bosti where the petrol pump was forcefully locked by some miscreants after harassing and threatening the employees. DCCI president Hokivi Chishi stated in a press release that, in view of the FIR lodged by the Dimapur Petroleum Dealers’ Association (DPDA), the DCCI appeals to the law enforcing agencies to pursue the case and bring the culprits to book. The DCCI has requested the “organization concerned” to kindly cooperate with the Police and hand over the culprits to the law enforcing agencies.
In this regard, the DCCI has extended appreciation to the district administration and the law enforcing agencies particularly SDPO Niuland K. Khalo for timely intervention in the matter after which the key could be handed over to the officials of the DPDA by the Police the same day in presence of the President, DCCI.
The DCCI on behalf of the business community has also expressed gratitude to NSCN / GPRN and the GPRN / NSCN for banning donations and demands from the business community in the name of festive season. The DCCI thanked all the groups for having concern for the business community by alleviating the problem of illegal taxation / forceful donation in true Christian spirit.
Further, while extending season’s greetings to the them, the DCCI has also requested the rank and file of the various organizations to abide by the order (Ahza) issued by the competent authorities so as not to tarnish the good image of their respective organizations.
The DCCI also lauds the Dimapur Police and the IRB personnel for nabbing number of extortionists and criminals over the past few days. It stated that “non-locals who are instigating local Nagas to carry out kidnappings, extortions and other anti-social activities. We appeal to the law enforcing agencies to book them under relevant sections of the law and ensure that befitting punishment is awarded to them so as to serve as an example to others. “
No ‘lightning closure’ allowed: DCCI
The DCCI as per its earlier directive published on October 3 in local newspapers , has once again directed all business establishments within its jurisdiction not to resort to lightning closure of shops in any manner whatsoever during the festive season so as to avoid inconvenience to the public. In the event of any incident involving a member of the business community, he / she may close only his / her shop till such time the matter is taken up with the higher authorities and resolved, the DCCI stated. In the event of any lightning strike without the approval or consent of the DCCI, the DCCI should not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever. This order is issued in the interest of the public.
