DDLSA conduct legal awareness at Delhi Public School

DIMAPUR, August 11 (MExN): Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) conducted legal awareness programme at Delhi Public School, Dimapur on August 10.  

Chairing the programme, Dzuvinuo Chadi, Panel Lawyer, DDLSA introduced the objectives and functions of legal aid services, a press release here said.  

Speaking on POCSO Act, 2012, Yanbemo Ngullie, Panel Lawyer, DDLSA, explained that the act visualize the protection of the child.  He emphasized on the two ways of offences under this Act; the touching offence - someone who touches in appropriate ways amounting to touching offence and non touching offence- showing obscene pictures ,pornography.  

Visheli H Yeptho, Panel Lawyer, DDLSA stressed on anti-ragging in schools which is prohibited by law. She briefly highlighted on fundamental rights and duties and also on the rights of the arrested person, the release added.  

Rokovitsu, Panel Lawyer, DDLSA apprising on cyber crime stated that misusing of computer and internet is prohibited by law. Moatila Ao, Panel Lawyer DDLSA spoke on trafficking and the main causes of trafficking and the consequences.  

Summing up the programme, Ajongba Imchen, CJM, Dimapur and Secretary, DDLSA emphasized that “we all are a part of nation building; we should be know our fundamental rights and duties, to contribute ourselves in building our nation and also know our rights and be a responsible citizen”.
