Affects water supply to Kohima Town

A dead body was found today at the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Water Reservoir in Jotsoma under the Kohima district early Wednesday morning.
Additional SP and PRO, Kohima Police, said that the police were informed about the recovery of a body by PHED personnel during routine work.
Upon arrival and after the identification of the deceased, the police informed that the body was handed over to family members.
However, no details on how the incident occurred were further divulged on the condition of the family's request.
The police further informed that a case under Unnatural Death (UD) has been registered at Zubza Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
As per reports, the deceased has been identified as an executive engineer of the Power department. Meanwhile, in connection with the incident, the SDO, PHED Kohima Urban Division, also issued a press release on Wednesday informing of the halting of water supply for the next two days.
Due to the urgent need for maintenance at the Water Treatment Plant, there would be no water supply during the next two days for the entire consumers of Kohima Town and Kohima Science College area (Phezhu), it stated.
The office further expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
