
Dimapur, October 21 (MExN): An online debate competition on human rights was held on October 20 at ARTC&S, 3rd Mile, Dimapur in which 32 CAPF participants each participated in the Hindi and English category.
According to a press release received here today, the main aim of the debate was to sensitize the importance of strict adherence to human rights while dealing with the public. The event was coordinated and presented by Col B S Madhok on behalf of the Assam Rifles while Jyotika Kalra, Member National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof Nikhil Kumar Chrungoo and Lima Sunep Jamir, IPS, IGP were the jury members of the event.
A total of 64 speakers debated on the topic in Hindi and English with 32 speakers each ‘For’ and ‘Against’ the motion. North East Zone (Assam Rifles Team) secured the 1st Position and East Zone (CISF Team) secured 2nd position in English language debate category, while the North East Zone (Assam Rifles Team) secured 1st position and South Zone (CISF Team) secured 2nd position in the Hindi language category.
The best four teams in both the English and Hindi categories namely North East Zone (AR), East Zone (CISF), UP Zone (CISF), Delhi Zone (AR) and North East Zone (AR), South Zone (CISF), Delhi Zone (AR), North East Zone (CRPF) have been selected to represent in the Final of CAPF Debate Competition scheduled to be held in November.
Brigadier Suresh Kumar Sheoran, YSM, SM, Commandant, ARTC & S appreciated the efforts put in by the participants and made special mention of the efficient conduct of the event by the organisers and conveyed good wishes to prize winning teams for the final round of the debate competition. He also conveyed gratitude and appreciation to the three judges for their valuable inputs and contribution.
