DIMAPUR, MARCH 14 (MExN): The All Nchangram Students’ Union (ANSU), Zeme Students’ Union (N), and Tening Students’ Union (TSU) today issued a demand for repair and renovation of the dilapidated road from Peren to Tenning with complete black-topping before the onset of the rainy season within one month.
A joint statement from the three organisations expressed resentment at the lackadaisical approach of the concerned department towards the need for urgent renovation of an “abandoned road” stretching from Peren to Tening despite repeated appeals made by inhabitants of the district.
The organizations pointed out that the existing road conditions stretching from Peren to Tening is “meant only for truck vehicles.” It said that with the onset of the monsoon, the roads will begin to look like riverbeds.
The three organizations cautioned that failure to repair/renovate the road would “not be tolerated” and would compel them to “our course of action.”
