Zunheboto, January 31 (MExN): ATMA Akuluto block conducted demonstrations at Integrated Farm School, Sastami village on January 28.
Kaiho Achumi, ATM Akuluto Block was the resource person. The topics were ‘Good Agricultural Practices (GAPS) for enhancing and improving farm productivity,’ which addresses multiple good practices concerning environment, economic and social sustainability for on farm processes. Different GAPS were demonstrated that included seed and sapling selections, mulching, soil solarization and use of organic fertilizers.
“Polyhouse Cultivation and operating techniques” was another topic which was also discussed; the farmers were encouraged to uptake different commercial crops in the polyhouse. Beside, preparation of nursery bed, selection of economic crops in the polyhouse was practically demonstrated.
A total of 13 Farmers attended the programme which was chaired by BTM Tsuktilemla. It was followed by an interaction with farmers and seeds distribution.
