Dimapur, February 2 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur, Medziphema block conducted a demonstration programme on low cost vermicomposting method at Livestock Farm School, Seithekima -A village on January 27.
A press release from BTM Medziphema block stated that the practical demonstration was conducted by resource person Albinus Atsumong, Soil Conservation Assistant (SCA), Department of Soil and Water conservation, Dimapur and BTT member. He gave hands on demonstration on the preparation of the vermicompost and highlighted on the importance of vermicompost, vermiwash, its proper management, harvesting of the vermicompost and its economic benefits.
Later, a demonstration on line sowing in Furrow Irrigated Raised Bed (FIRB) system of High Quality Protein Maize (HQPM 5) was conductedby Yatetla Longkumer, ATM (Medziphema block).
The training was attended by 16 farmers along with ATMA Officials where the programme ended by distribution of vermi worms, vermibed and HQPM-1 and HQPM-5seeds to the participants.
