Wokha, September 29 (MExN): Department of Art and Culture, Wokha conducted cultural programme on the theme ‘Igniting cultural traditions’ at Likhya Community Hall Orchid colony, Wokha on September 29.
A press release received here stated that I Yentinoungbou, EAC HQ gracing the occasion called upon the Lotha community to uphold and preserve their rich cultural practices. In a welcome address, Zuthungo Yanthan, District Cultural Officer, Wokha informed that the state government has proposed to organize such event so that the Naga traditions, values and practices are preserved.
Lansothung Yanthan from Don Bosco HSS and Chanchibeni Yanthan from Isaiah Ability HSS presented story telling while Longsa Women Cultural troupe, Vantsu Taro cultural troupe, Bethsaida school Wokha, Isaiah Ability HSS and Phiro Village cultural troupe presented cultural dance, folk song, traditional practices and indigenous games.
The programme was chaired by Benithung Humtsoe with invocation by N Akumba Phom and vote of thanks by Florence Yanthan.
