Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): As part of the ongoing ‘Green Campus Project’ which is an initiative of the Eco and Beautification Club, Dimapur Government College (DGC), a tree plantation drive was held at DGC on August 19.
During the occasion, Moatoshi Longkumer, MLA, 2 Dimapur II A/C and DGC Principal, Dr Moanochet Longchar planted saplings of Amaltas Golden shower.
DGC Publicity and Media Cell in a press release stated that further, towards the enhancement of the project, the MLA donated 5000 saplings along with a richly documented book titled ‘Plant Resources of Nagaland.’
Following the plantation drive, a short programme was held at the Seminar Hall. In his speech, Moatoshi conveyed appreciation of the various initiatives of the college with special mention of the ‘Green Campus Project’ which is one of the best practices of the college. Encouraging the College to capitalize on the available resources and advantages, he re-iterated his commitment towards the college.
The programme also featured the official release of the annual college magazine ‘Pursuit’ by the MLA.
The programme was chaired by IQAC Co-ordinator Dr Vitsosie Vupru and the Vice Principal, Alemla Imsong, pronounced the vote of thanks.
