Dimapur, May 28 (MExN): With Oil marketing companies (OMCs) keeping the fuel prices stable, petrol and diesel on Friday were retailing at the same rates as May 27.

Petrol were retailing at Rs 93.42 a litre Thursday in state capital Kohima, just a few paisa away from record high of Rs 93.93 on February 22, 2021 before the State Government announced reduction in tax rate for diesel and petrol and other motor spirits bringing the price down.

However, diesel price was retailing at record high Rs 87.47 in Kohima.

Fuel was costliest in Tuensang with petrol retailing at Rs 95.58 a litre and diesel at Rs 89.58 a litre, according to IndianOil One, the official app of the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd on fuel related matters.

It was cheapest in commercial capital Dimapur at Rs 86.71 a litre for diesel and Rs 92.46 a litre for petrol.
The prices remained same across the state on Friday.

Friday's pause in price revision came after OMCs raised fuel prices by 25-30 paisa a litre kept on the previous day. The oil companies have been following this trend for past couple of weeks when fuel prices are raised on few days and kept unchanged on others, IANS news agency reported.
