DIET relocation: CWS suspends agitation

Tuensang, June 21 (MExN): The Chang Wedoshi Setshang (Chang Students’ Conference) has temporarily suspended its ‘indefinite agitation’ with effect from June 22 on the condition that the state government resolve the matter of relocating the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Tuensang by July 15. Informing this in a press release on Tuesday, CWS President C Pongsu and General Secretary Ebou Naset stated that the decision was taken after considering an ‘approval letter’ from the state Commissioner’s office on June 21.

However, the Conference has suspended the agitation appealing the state government to implement the demand of the CWS on or before July 15, 2022,” the release stated. The CWS would resume the suspended agitation if the government fails to respond within the stipulated time, it added. It meanwhile acknowledged the district administration, security force, federating units, Change apex organisations and the public of Tuensang for adhering to its directives.
