More than 150 candidates registered today for the one-day Job Fair 2025, which was held at Salesian College of Higher Education, Kuda A village.
Among the applicants, most of whom were freshers, 90 were shortlisted for the next selection process, which will be conducted simultaneously from June 26.
The event was organised by the ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) and the Don Bosco Job Placement Network Dimapur, in collaboration with Salesian College of Higher Secondary Education, District Employment Exchange Dimapur, and the National Career Service Centre (NCSC) for Differently Abled, Dimapur.

This marked the third job fair organised this year under the initiative of the AIDA- Don Bosco Job Placement Network in collaboration with the district employment exchanges. In March and April, the AIDA-Don Bosco had conducted similar job fairs and career expos in Dimapur and Kohima as part of a nationwide campaign to celebrate the dignity of work.
Speaking to The Morung Express on the sidelines of the event, Sebi Chacko, Programme Coordinator of AIDA-Don Bosco Job Placement Network, said that the event has seen steady improvement over the years. However, he expressed concern that most young people opt for local vacancies, which are limited. While there are openings in the retail sector, he noted that such jobs often require prior experience. He also under scored the necessity for young people to equip themselves with skill sets that enhance their employability.
It is worth mentioning that the AIDA-Don Bosco Job Placement Network regularly conducts career guidance and skill development programmes designed to empower youth with the necessary tools to succeed in the job market and foster their professional growth.

Earlier in the day, a brief inaugural programme was held, where the special guest, Abdu Saleem TK, Head of Office and Rehabilitation Officer, NCSC Dimapur, emphasised the importance of garnering skills for employability and career development. Meanwhile, Fr Dr Roy George, Director of AIDA Dimapur, in his keynote address, highlighted the importance of meaningful employment and reiterated the need for skill development among today’s youth.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Sebi Chacko acknowledged the collective efforts of all partners and stakeholders. During the programme, the invocation prayer was led by Fr Elow Samuel, Rector of Salesian College, followed by a welcome address from Fr Dr Paul Punii, Principal of Salesian College.
The job fair witnessed enthusiastic participation from nine recruiting organisations. Of these, five conducted offline interviews, while four facilitated online mode.
The participating organisations included—Chilli Breeze (Graphics Designing Firm), Jio Reliance, Indian Army – Agniveer Programme, CEC (Career Education Consultancy), Flywayy Aviation–Hospitality Sector, Shri Vidya Mandir Educational Institutions, TTec, Auxilium School, OHAA Tech School, and Santhome School.
Throughout the fair, candidates expressed their appreciation for the opportunity, with many sharing their excitement about experiencing interviews for the first time despite initial nerves.
The event offered a platform to the young people to interact directly with recruiters, explore career options, and participate in on-the-spot interviews and counselling sessions. The day-long fair also provided career guidance and information on vocational training, fulfilling the network’s aim of bridging the gap between education and employment.
Sebi Chacko noted that the day marked a significant step towards community upliftment and employment empowerment, aligning with the mission of AIDA and the Don Bosco Job Placement Network “to build a skilled, confident, and job-ready youth population in Nagaland.”
