Dimapur Airport to get busier this summer

Morung Express News
Dimapur | March 27

With more arrival and departure of flights in the coming weeks, the Dimapur Airport is slated to get ‘enhanced connectivity,’ a development described by an official as a boon to air passengers from Nagaland and neighbouring district of Assam.

“Scheduled flight connectivity to/from Dimapur is being greatly increased from existing 21 departures per week to 38 departures per week in the summer schedule,” informed Dimapur Airport Director Mughavi Zhimo.

The number of departure per week from Dimapur will further increase from 38 to 44 from May 25, Zhimo said. This will further enhance connectivity to/from Dimapur and is a boon to air passengers from Nagaland and Assam, he added.

As per the approved summer schedule of Dimapur airport provided by the Director, the new additions will start from March 28 with a new daily Indigo flight (6E 7215/ 6E 7216) from/to Kolkata with estimated time of arrival (ETA) 0805/0905. Another daily Indigo Aircraft (6E 7934/6E 7933) to/from Dibrugarh is set to take flight on the same day with ETD/ETA of 0825/0845. This is a new sector started by Indigo. Both flights are ATR aircraft, the Director informed.

Meanwhile, Zhimo further informed that Indigo A320 from Kolkata will be operating as per revised arrival timing of 1:50pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and 2:10 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Air India 709/710 will operate 6 days a week (except Saturday) between Kolkata and Dimapur with arrival timing of 12:55 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 2:30 pm on Friday, he added.
