Dimapur: Back & forth between former NPF comrades continues

Morung Express News
Dimapur | May 23

The back and forth between former comrades in the NPF’s Dimapur Division continued on May 23.  Earlier, at a press conference on May 22, functionaries of the NPF’s Dimapur Division accused NPF turned NDPP MLA, Moatoshi Longkumer, representing 2 Dimapur-II Assembly Constituency, and his followers of “misusing” the party’s nomenclature and symbol at a meeting on May 21 despite shifting allegiance to the NDPP. They also cautioned of taking legal action on their former comrades.

The former NPF functionaries, who organised the May 21 meeting, retorted today at a press conference that they were NPF members till then and hence were justified in using the party symbol and nomenclature. They claimed that it was only after the meeting that they parted from the NPF to join the NDPP along with the MLA.

Kerei Pfukha, former Women Wing President, 2 Dimapur-II AC, maintained that the individuals, who attended the May 21 meeting, were bonafide NPF members till that day. As opposed to the NPF Dimapur Division claiming that SHG members had also attended the meeting, she claimed that only genuine members were present.

Sakho Angami, former Vice President of NPF 2 Dimapur-II AC, sought to clarify that the meeting was not organised by MLA Moatoshi and that he attended the meeting only as an “invitee.” He added that the meeting was organised to chart the way ahead after leaving the NPF.

Limawati Imchen, former Advisor, NPF 2 Dimapur-II AC, further expressed resentment over his former comrades allegedly sending a letter to the MLA on May 20 instead of the party functionaries. While stating that it was inappropriate, he demanded that the NPF must tender apology for dragging the MLAs name in the matter.

Longshibemo Shitiri, former General Secretary (Admin), 2 Dimapur-II AC, further contested the claim that the former NPF functionaries had used designations that did not exist in the part organizational structure. According to him, the designations they had were true and produced ID cards issued by the NPF office to support his claim.
