Jubilee choir presenting song during the silver jubilee and thanksgiving programme of Dimapur Bengali Baptist Church, Nagagaon colony held on April 6 and 7.
Dimapur, April 8 (MExN): The Dimapur Bengali Baptist Church, Nagagaon colony on April 6 and 7 celebrated its silver jubilee and thanksgiving programme respectively with the theme ‘Thy faithfulness is unto all generation.’
Rev. Andrew Semp, Director of Nagaland Mission Movement and Rev Phushito Chishi, Mission Promoter WSBAK were the guest speakers. To start with Jubilee Celebration Rev. Andrew Semp read a passage from the Bible and after prayer of blessings unveiled the silver jubilee monolith.
The Pastor of DBBC, Rev Dulal Sarkar led the programme. Souvenir was released by Rev Kamal Dutta, former Pastors of DBBC. BB Sen, Chairman Souvenir committee shared the history of the church. Choreography was presented by the Sunday school children.
Rev. Andrew Semp in his message reminded the congregation that it was a time to look back and thank God for the 10,000 blessings and on the other hand to seek forgiveness for the thousands of times we may have failed our creator. He concluded by encouraging the church to remain faithful to God so that the Blessings will pass on to the next generations.
Welcome song and closing hymn was presented by the jubilee choir. Rev Dilip Singh said the Benediction.
On the thanksgiving service, Rev Phushito Chishi, Mission Promoter WSBAK was the speaker. He shared that thanksgiving should overflow, must be expressed and that it is the demand of the Lord. He pointed that Bengali people in general are highly intellectual and they should use it to become great servants of Christ. He pronounced blessing prayer upon all the members of the church, past and present leaders of the church.
