DIMAPUR, APRIL 23 (MExN): Shops and business establishments in Dimapur have been warned not to indulge in hoarding or any other unethical practices.
A press release from the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) cautioned that any business indulging in such hoardings will be sealed and goods will be handed over to the administration for free distribution. It said that the DCCI would monitor the market round the clock with the help of the administration and the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) and take direct complaints from the public. Meanwhile, the DCCI assured the public that there is sufficient stock and there is no need to worry about shortages.
It informed that there have been reports of price rise of certain essential commodities like mustard oil, cooking oil, pulses and hardware items like MS rod and cement all over India in the last few weeks. The DCCI cautioned traders not to hoard and charge unnecessary hike in the rates of these products in particular.
It further asked all traders to comply with the SOP given by the District Task Force. “All shops must ensure social distancing, insist on wearing masks (both customers and shopkeepers) as well as provide hand sanitizers in their respective shops,” it directed.
In case of any grievances, the public can send their complaints through WhatsApp to 9436002945, 9402022222 and 7005526728.
The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) also warned traders not to indulge in any unfair, illegal, unethical practices such as hoarding or unauthorized increase in prices of commodities taking undue advantage of the impending COVID-19 situation in the State. It also directed all to adhere to the COVID-19 SOPs.
Public complaints to the DMC can be communicated by contacting its helpline at 9862929908, 6009533234 and 7005697120.
