Dimapur DC on strict enforcement of COVID-19 precautions

Dimapur, October 20 (MExN): With the district witnessing a surge of COVID-19 cases recently, Dimapur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Soundararajan also highlighted the lackadaisical attitude amongst the general public and some traders in Dimapur.

In this regard, the DC cautioned that more stringent enforcement of COVID-19 precautions will be carried out.

Addressing the Dimapur District Task Force meeting on October 20, the DC advised the members to continue providing awareness from one's own level, a DIPR report informed.

“In terms of Quarantine and testing, Dimapur district is showing comparatively satisfactory result, but we need to put mechanism in place to avoid exponential curve," the DC maintained.

He further directed the outpost administrative officers under Dimapur district for conducting meeting in consultation with the village authorities for more stringent enforcement of COVID-19 measures. He also added that the current enforcement teams in place, headed by administrative officers would intensify the various enforcement activities.

In the meeting, CMO Dimapur Dr Mereninla briefed on the COVID-19 situation of the district and reminded the public to follow the 3 golden rules- wearing mask, maintaining social distance and sanitizing hands.

Director CISHR Dimapur, Dr Sedevi, Director Airport Authority Dimapur, Shikuto from DCCI, Pastor Yanbemo and several others shared their views and concerns in the meeting, the report added.
