Dimapur, March 2 (MExN): Te excise narcotic personnel manning the inter-state check gate at Khuzama on routine checking of vehicles intercepted one night super bus bearing registration No AS 16B-0397 on March 1.
According to S Chanlei Angh, Dy Commissioner of Excise (NC), Dimapur, upon checking the bus, the duty party recovered two rucksacks containing 180 grams of suspected heroin in 15 soap cases.
In this connection, two accused person namely Iman Ali (25 yrs) S/o Dareg Ali and Sohar Ali (27 yrs) S/o. Arun Ali, both residents of Kaltali, Barpeta, Assam were arrested for illegal possession of contraband heroin and booked under the relevant sections of NDPS Act 1985. “The case is now under active investigation,” Angh informed in the update.
The duty party consists of AIE Nokcha Ao, Head Constables Kiyevi and Hushika, Amos, Zhekugha, Tanghiu, Azily, Neizokholie, Shinglei and Aienla, all constables of Excise.
